Little Brown Book Group

Tangent One worked with Little, Brown Book Group to develop an editorial-based approach to content which will appeal to the publisher’s various audiences, including consumers, existing and prospective authors, as well as members of the book industry who want to be able to access specific rights and permissions trade information.

Tangent One’s design for the website was based around Little, Brown’s new corporate branding which had been developed in conjunction with the design agency Unreal. The project also involved the development of a content management system and the implementation of e-commerce functionality.

“The look and feel of the site is to reflect the feeling of when someone goes in to a bookshop, browses its titles, is attracted by a cover and then looks in more depth,” Mathew Riley, Group Account Director at Tangent One.

The site also includes a Little, Brown blog, audio and video content; author interviews, free content and book extracts; exclusively commissioned articles and regular competitions, newsletters and news feeds.

Roger Cazalet, Group Marketing Director at Little, Brown, commented: “Tangent One have been great to work with and they have delivered exactly what we asked of them in our transition from a business to a consumer website: a new site with a fabulous structure that has a simple front end, with a natural flow for users and a high degree of editorial content, which hides a complex, technical back end. We’re all thrilled with the result.”
